A Sora Competitor
AI continues its rapid advancement across multiple fronts. In this edition of the BunnyPixel newsletter, we'll break down the latest AI news and breakthroughs with a few fun bits along the way. Lets get started…
Vidu AI - China’s answer to Sora
China's Shengshu Technology, in collaboration with Tsinghua University, has recently launched Vidu, a groundbreaking text-to-video AI model, at the Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing. Designed to produce high-definition 16-second videos at 1080p with a single prompt, Vidu represents China's first major entry into AI-driven video creation.
While Vidu offers shorter video lengths than OpenAI's Sora, which can create up to one minute of video, it stands out with its unique ability to seamlessly integrate Chinese cultural elements like pandas and dragons into its visuals. This achievement, despite facing challenges such as limited access to advanced GPUs, is a significant step in the competitive AI landscape.
It's exciting to see increasing competition in the text-to-video space. We eagerly anticipate future enhancements to Vidu and other models and look forward to the innovations they will bring to multimedia content creation.
and for comparison sake, here is the first preview of Openai Sora
and in other Sora news… the first full length music video produced with Sora has been released.. see what you think !

Astribot Humanoid Robot
You will hear much about humanoid robots in the next five years. After a couple of decades of development and research and adding in the latest AI technology, they are getting much better and faster.
This week, we are introducing you to the debut of Astribot's S1 robot, a high-speed, precision-driven humanoid developed by the Shenzhen-based Stardust Intelligence subsidiary. Showcasing extraordinary capabilities, the S1 robot can move at a top speed of 10 meters per second and handle up to 10 kilograms per arm, making it one of the fastest and most dexterous robots to date.
Unveiled in a recent video, the S1 robot showcased its prowess by effortlessly tackling complex tasks, from mundane kitchen chores like flipping sandwiches and slicing cucumbers to intricate artistic endeavors like calligraphy. This level of precision and adaptability hints at the S1's potential to revolutionize domestic assistance and open up a world of possibilities for broader professional applications.
Established in 2022, Astribot has been on a rapid trajectory, culminating in the development of the S1 robot, which is set to hit the commercial market later this year. As the humanoid robotics market expands, the S1's arrival is poised to spark a wave of competitive innovation, heralding a significant leap forward in robotic capabilities and applications, and leaving us all eagerly awaiting the future it will shape.
